Dr Simon Wong and Ms Anne Tang co-presented a paper entitled "An Exploratory Study of Postgraduate Hotel and Tourism Management Students' Experience of Learning by Games: A Case Study of the 'Hotel and Tourism Training and Development' Class in Hong Kong" at the 8th Annual International Conference on Tourism in Athens, Greece on 11-14 June 2012.

Dr Mimi Li attended the 2nd International Forum on Tourism in Tianjin, China on 16-17 June 2012.

Dr Cindy Heo presented a paper entitled "The Endorsement Effects of UNESCO's World Heritage Designation on Tourists' Pro-Environmental Behaviour" at the 1st EJTHR International Conference Destination Branding, Heritage and Authenticity in Santiago de Compostela, Spain on 21-22 June 2012.

A number of SHTM staff members and students attended the 18th Asia Pacific Tourism Association Annual Conference in Taipei, Taiwan on 26-29 June 2012 and presented papers. As one of the keynote speakers, Professor Kaye Chon spoke on "New Tourism, New Strategies".
