Our Specialization
Additive Manufacturing Stream (AMS) comprises of expertise on three main technical domains, 1) Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing, 2) Material Processing of Plastics and Metal alloy and 3) Surface Engineering. We support researchers/students on the application and integration of 3D printing technology, CAD/CAE, metal casting, plastics tooling and advanced surface engineering technology to unleash the potential capability of Additive Manufacturing technology for research and industrial applications. AMS focused on the following:
- Design of AM by means of CAD/CAE integration, i.e. Topology Optimization /Generative Design, 3D Scanning and the corresponding 3D printing Technology, i.e. SLA, FDM, DLP, SLS, SLM;
- Development of Medical training model to mimic the practical surgical operations for medical professions;
- Application research on material and process development of resin based and metal 3D Printing, surface engineering technology i.e. PVD coating, for printed electronic and sensors applications
