A Journey on Global Harwell

On 7 August 2024, Prof HU Xiangen, DoIHERD, spoke at 2024 International Digital Learning Forum in Taiwan with the title “Human Wisdom Meets AI: A New Era in Education”, and engaged with fellow panellists on the application of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI). Towards the end of the trip, Prof HU also shared on how “Generative AI Enhances Conversational Intelligent Tutoring System”.

Showcasing PolyU’s GenAI-in-Assessment Practices at UNESCO

Dr Julia CHEN, Senior Fellow and the Director of the Educational Development Centre (EDC), along with her two EDC colleagues, Dr Dawn LO and Mr Leo CHON, had the opportunity to showcase their work on promoting and analysing the incorporation of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in assessment at the Digital Learning Week held at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris in early September 2024. As UNESCO’s annual flagship event, the Digital Learning Week 2024 featured over 170 speakers from more than 50 countries, including ministers, policymakers, digital education leaders, researchers and practitioners from various organisations and private sectors.
