ISE graduates Sze Tung CHEUNG, Ho Hin CHEUNG, Mei Yan AU and Tsz Ting Angela YOUNG won the Champion award in the “CA Paper Award Competition (Undergraduate level) 2022/2023” organized by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) – Control, Automation and Instrumentation Division (CAD) and co-organized by the Institute of Measurement and Control, Hong Kong Section. The awarded winning paper, titled “Collision avoidance and trajectory tracking for multiple autonomous mobile robots in the robot operating system”, was supervised by Dr. Carman Lee.
The CA Paper Award Competition aims to promote Control, Automation & Instrumentation technologies and inspire young engineers and technologists to showcase their innovative ideas. With the increasing deployment of autonomous mobile robots in various industries, ensuring the safety and efficient operation of these autonomous mobile robots becomes crucial. The award winning paper focuses on collision avoidance and trajectory tracking to minimize accidents, damage, and disruptions in environments where these robots operate, such as warehouses, factories, hospitals, and other public spaces.
