Brief Biosketch

Dr. Kun Wang is an Assistant Professor at Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Before this, he was Associate Professor at University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), Beijing, China. He obtained PhD degree in Transport & Logistics from Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia (UBC). Dr. Wang received BBA (First Class Honours) and MPhil degree from Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies (LMS), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Dr. Wang has published more than 100 articles on journals including Transportation Research Part A/B/C/D/E, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Transport Policy, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews Energy Economics, Annals of Operations Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Air Transport Management. His work has been widely cited with 13 articles recognized as the ESI highly cited papers. He is also awarded the “World’s Top 2% Scientists” by Stanford University in 2023 and 2024.

Dr. Wang has been the principal investigator (PI) of several research grants, for example, NSFC and Social Science Foundation of Ministry of Education of China. He has also provided consultancy services for the organizations including State Council of China, Ministry of Transportation of China, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), Airport Authority of Hong Kong (AAHK), Beijing Municipal Government, Xiamen Airport, Manchester Airport Group, Umetrip, Variflight. His advisory reports have been endorsed by Vice Prime Minister of China, and Vice Minister of Transport of China.
