The Internet of Things (IoT) is a mature technology with a multitude of options in connectivity and application. Leveraging IoT devices to collect environmental data and track exceptions improves operation efficiency and allows more timely responses to abnormal situations.
Campus IoT infrastructure provides shared and secure connectivity as well as edge devices for data aggregation / filtering before forwarding to repository for analysis and reporting. Academic departments can leverage campus IoT infrastructure to enable real time monitoring of research data collected. A website of ‘Internet of Things’ has been launched to let users understand more about IoT and related services provided by ITS.
