With an aim of improving user experiences in payment, the Faster Payment System (FPS) and the PolyU Online Payment Platform have now been brought into the campus.
FPS in Student Account Enquiry System
The Faster Payment System (FPS) has been enabled in the Student Account Enquiry System since 25 June. Students can enjoy the ease of real-time online payment by simply scanning QR code using their mobiles.
PolyU Online Payment Platform
The new PolyU Online Payment Platform (POS) is developed with 3 main core functions:
(1) Payment Gateway
Payment Gateway is the backbone to all available online payment channels, including FPS, Visa, Master, Unionpay, Flywire, etc. Just tap into the Payment Gateway and all payment channels can be configured at one place.
(2) Payment Counter Portal
Payment Counter Portal is designed like a virtual POS with mobile responsive design which enables users to use conveniently on desktop, tablets or mobiles. The ‘Shopping cart’ function, with clarity of item breakdown and total amount, allows payment of multiple fees at one go. FO Cashier Office (located next to 7-Eleven) is the first to adopt this new payment portal. Library, Optometry Clinic and Jockey Club Rehabilitation Engineering Clinic are planned to deploy this portal as well to their counters and clinics soon.
(3) Admin Portal and Accounting Services
Admin Portal is a service portal for income collection party to configure the payment items, enquire payment transactions and set up accounting information. Accounting journals are generated and sent to Oracle Financials automatically. The centralized and standardized design helps reduce the lead time for payment collection.
FPS planned to be integrated to other payment services while the PolyU Online Payment Platform will also be rolled out to other departments and service centres by phase. Stay tuned.
