During 14 May 2021 meeting, CLOs from academic and non-academic units (NAUs) attended online briefing hosted by ITS covering the following topics:
(1) Useful tools to stream admin process flow
- e-Signature for signing pdf documents
- Self-service online survey / voting / eform using MS Form, MySurvey or PFS
(2) Updates on learning and teaching tools
- Dashboard for academic HoU and DLTC Chair covering student participation rate on online teaching delivery by departments & subjects
- Enabling of Blackboard mixed mode for improved student / staff use experience
- Classroom AV-IT facilities improvement including demo of Smart Panel (Ideahub)
(3) Experience sharing
- Experience sharing on use of Virtual Assistant to address student general information enquiry on 7 x 24 basis
- Experience sharing on PolyU research consultancy project
(4) Other updates
- Retirement of Pulse secure VPN, Skype for Business and a.polyu.edu.hk domain mail forwarding service for retiree
- Change in MS Teams recording to OneDrive for Business
- Disable port 445 between subnet
The meeting also serves as an effective channel for ITS to collect feedback and suggestions from departments on new IT initiatives that address needs of departments.
