Are you planning to change smartphone? If you are using the Microsoft Authentication App on your old device, don’t it throw away/ trade in your old device yet as it is needed to transfer Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) service to the new smartphone.
The ‘Microsoft Authenticator’ app on your mobile phone is required when you want to activate it again after changing a new device. In case your old device has been disposed / lost before MFA is activated on a new device, please report to IT HelpCentre for reset of the MFA service.
