A new system, the Research Safety Approval System (RSAS), has been launched since July 2024.
RSAS allows Principal Investigators (PIs) to obtain research safety approval from the PolyU Research Safety Sub-Committee for research projects involving potential safety issues in chemical, biological, and ionizing/non-ionizing radiation areas. It streamlines and improves the efficiency of the application process by tracking all the application progress in a centralized system.
RSAS workflow:
RSAS allows Principal Investigators (PIs) and their delegates to submit applications through an online interface.
In RSAS, applicants can easily answer questions related to:
A. Chemical Safety
B. Biological Safety
C. Ionizing Radiation Safety
D. Non-ionizing Radiation Safety
RSAS provides an efficient, paperless workflow for the approval process. Through this online system, the Sub-Committee and Chairman can review and approve applications. After the Chairman's approval, RSAS will issue an approval memo.
PIs can easily download the approval memos from RSAS.
