To enhance staff and students’ teaching and learning experience, the Zoom Timer App is now available in Zoom for lecture capture and hybrid teaching delivery usage. The Zoom Timer App is a new feature that is a countdown and alarm to remind instructor of remaining time to go. It is very handy and useful for timing the duration of student presentations and other class activities as well.

The PolyU NetID (Network Identity) is the key to use University’s IT facilities and services. It is a unique personal identifier and is made up of a single username and password pair, named as NetID and NetPassword respectively. With the NetID, users can access the University’s online facilities including University Portal, eLearning Platform, Wi-Fi and other network facilities and services, etc.

If instructors want to record what they shared with the class using their notebooks or conduct a hybrid class with students joining online, they can use their notebooks to join the VC session as a guest participant and use the Classroom PC to start the Cloud based VC Meeting as host to benefit from the visual / audio integration already pre-configured at teaching venues. ​

006_Integrated Smart Panel teaching PC with keyboard_C

Workshops for instructors on using Smart Panel built-in teaching PC for teaching delivery

Starting from Semester 2 of Academic Year 2022/23, teaching instructors conduct face-to-face / hybrid class in teaching venues with smart panel will be able to leverage keyboard and mouse on the teaching lectern to sign in the embedded teaching PC built-in smart-panel. Moreover, the display monitor on the teaching lectern can be served as a duplicate or extend screen of smart panel display.
