Blind by JW is a contemporary “east meets west” womenswear label which mixes fashion elements steeped in traditional Chinese artistry with chic geometrical patterns and shapes. The style brings a dash of romance to the city with a fresher take on prints, colour blocking and mixing of fabrics. The fabric tells a story of contrasts where soft meets coarse textures, with chic prints and textures taking center stage. Inspired by the design of venetian blinds, Blind by JW allows us to peer as it were, into the dream world through the use of different media to illustrate the intricate details of drawings and artwork. Blind by JW demonstrates how printed textiles can enhance the aesthetic appeal and femininity of a woman.
Over the past two years, Blind by JW has showcased its designs in fashion and trade shows across Asia, the Middle East and Europe. To promote sustainability, Blind by JW uses discarded fabric to design accessories like clutches and tote bags. Blind by JW has also delivered related workshops on accessory design which focuses on reusing and recycling printed fabrics in the spirit of the zero waste initiative. Blind by JW is supported by Hong Kong Design Centre’s Design Incubation Programme.
