Novel Development of Superfine Wool Products

A novel spinning and knitting process for developing superfine wool products

Superfine wool fibre is a new animal fibre which has great potential in producing high value-added products, such as yarn, fabrics and garments. However, the new fibre cannot be converted into fabrics with technologies available in the market. PolyU has successfully developed a novel process for superfine wool fibre which is faster and simpler than conventional production processes for common wool. Due to the excellent properties of the new fibre, garments made from it are expected to show better quality than cashmere products.
