In the fourth episode of PolyU FCE Impact Case Studies 2023 video series - “Seamless positioning and navigation in a confined urban environment”, Prof. Wu CHEN, Professor and Head of the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics (LSGI), featured various technologies developed by LSGI in improving positioning accuracy and availabilities suited for highly dense urban areas.
Although Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is the cornerstone for Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) service in modern society, this technology was adversely affected by the multipath effects in dense urban areas like Hong Kong. Therefore, LSGI has developed a range of new technologies and innovative solutions in tackling the multipath effects and contributing to the development of smart city.
Let’s check out the video and explore these fabulous technologies!
