Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation (J.C.DISI)

Established in 2012, the Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation (J.C.DISI) aims to provide an innovative platform to envision a better life in the society, to connect people with passion and nurture doers of all ages to innovate impactful action.

To achieve such vision and mission, J.C.DISI operates on following main action areas:

PolyU Jockey Club “Operation SoInno” 2.0

Organised by J.C.DISI and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, this 3-year social innovation project aims to innovate solutions to social challenges with a view to improving life in Hong Kong.

Good Seed Programme

Good Seed is a social innovation training and funding programme jointly developed by J.C.DISI and the Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship Office of PolyU. With the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund, the programme aims to unleash creative potential of young people to drive social innovations for the benefits of the underprivileged, with design, technology and business as major focus.

Transdisciplinary Research and Collaboration

Through transdisciplinary research and collaboration with external organisations and PolyU academic units, including Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Department of Applied Social Sciences, School of Design, School of Optometry, etc., J.C.DISI aims at creating evidence-based social and academic impacts, as well as fostering knowledge transfer in the community.
