The Microelectronics Technology Forum, held 3–5 August 2021, was organised to gather brilliant minds from universities in the top echelon, promising tech start-ups, investors and world-leading corporations to share their views on the latest trends and opportunities in microelectronics. The three-day forum covered global microelectronics trends, business opportunities in emerging technologies and critical research infrastructure.

RI-IWEAR Director Prof. Xiaoming TAO presented on the topic of “Microelectronics and Intelligent Wearable Systems”. She displayed a video showing RI-IWEAR’s research achievements and discussed the relationship between intelligent wearable systems and microelectronics as well as intelligent wearable technology based on microelectronics.
The session also included a panel discussion related to critical research infrastructure. Prof. Xiaoming TAO participated in the discussion as a panelist and provided her opinions on this topic.
