PolyU hosted the regional qualifier for the remote-control underwater vehicle tournament on Tuesday, where nearly 500 primary and secondary school students were required to build an underwater vehicle in the shape of a seaperch, and remotely control the vehicle to capture and transport floating objects. Prof. Christopher CHAO, Vice-President (Research and Innovation) and Director of PReCIT, said at the event that he hoped students could gain an in-depth understanding of cutting-edge marine technology, master scientific research methods, and cultivate the ability to innovate across disciplines.
