Prof. Changyuan Yu, one of the Management Committee Member in Photonics Research Institute (PRI), has been elected a Fellow of Optica for 2023 for his significant contributions to signal processing in optical fiber communication and sensing systems, and actively serving the optics community.
The Board of Directors of Optica (formerly OSA), Advancing Optics and Photonics Worldwide, recently elected 109 members from 24 countries to the Society’s 2023 Fellow Class. Optica Fellows are selected based on several factors, including outstanding contributions to business, education, research, engineering, and service to Optica and our community.“I am pleased to welcome the new Optica Fellows,” said Satoshi Kawata 2022 Optica President. “These members join a distinguished group of leaders who are helping to advance the field optics and photonics. Congratulations to the 2023 Class.” Fellows are Optica members who have served with distinction in the advancement of optics and photonics. The number of Fellows is limited by the society's bylaws to be no more than 10% of the total membership and the number elected each year is limited to approximately 0.5% of the current membership total.
