PolyU and Jiangsu institute join hands to foster research collaboration
PolyU and Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Second Jiangsu-Hong Kong Summit on Interconnected Development. The MoU provides a framework for collaboration to develop basic research in science and technology, as well as for developing and implementing applied research projects in Jiangsu Province.
JITRI has established matching funds of RMB40 million to support joint projects with PolyU which have potential for technology development or commercialisation in Jiangsu. Five research projects have been successfully matched to apply for funding support. These projects are in the areas of industrial robotic arms, printable transparent organic solar cells, and human-robot interactions through thermal point clouds, meeting the growing needs from the industry.
