Honorable Advisors

Professor Li Licheng, born on July 8, 1941, in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, is a distinguished expert in power grid engineering and DC transmission. He is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a foreign member of the National Academy of Engineering (USA), and an IEEE Life Fellow. He serves as the Honorary President of the China Southern Power Grid Company and is a professor and doctoral advisor at South China University of Technology.

Professor Li graduated from Tsinghua University in 1967 and has held several prominent positions in the power industry. From 1979 to 1980, he studied at Hydro-Québec Research Institute in Canada. He has been instrumental in the development and implementation of major high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage DC transmission projects in China. His contributions include leading the first ±500kV DC transmission project and the world's first ±800kV ultra-high-voltage DC transmission project.

Professor Li has published over 180 academic papers and co-authored significant works such as "Advanced Transmission Technology and Clean and Efficient Utilization of Coal" and "Integration Technology of Smart Grids and Energy Networks". He has received numerous awards, including the National Science and Technology Progress Award and the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Award. His pioneering work has made substantial contributions to the advancement of power grid technology and engineering in China.
