RCMI Delegated Visited the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University

On October 28, 2024, at the invitation of Dr LI Yongxin, Director of the Vascular Surgery Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University (“the Hospital”), the RCMI team visited the Hospital to gather insights from clincial experts.

The purpose of this exchange was to promote collaboration and innovation between the two institutions.At the exchange meeting, Prof. WONG Man-sau, briefed the members on the Centre’s background and development, and delivered an academic report titled "Plant Estrogens Derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine for the Prevention and Treatment of Menopausal Osteoporosis."
It was followed by presentations from Dr Daniel MOK, Dr Christina POON, and Dr ZHOU Liping, titled 'Chronic Disease Research Based on Metabolomics,' 'Traditional Chinese Medicine for Treating Osteoporosis and Sarcopenia,' and 'Development of New Methods in Ocular Surface Disease Research,' respectively.

The exchange attracted participation from several leaders and experts from Qingdao University Affiliated Hospital, including Dean Li Huanting, Vice Dean Jiang Yan, Director Tao Cheng, Director Huang Xia, and various department heads. Attendees exchanged opinions on further deepening academic cooperation, strengthening personnel exchanges, and enhancing interaction between the two universities. The RCMI team engaged in enthusiastic discussions with doctors and graduate students from fields such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nutrition, Orthopedics, Rehabilitation, and Ophthalmology, reaching preliminary cooperation intentions in multiple research areas. This exchange not only enhanced mutual understanding but also laid a solid foundation for future collaboration.
