The partnership between The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and Holo See Medical Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd marks a significant step forward in the application of naked-eye 3D technology in the medical field, particularly in addressing visual health issues like myopia. This collaboration aims to leverage PolyU's leading research in optometry and myopia control, alongside Holo See's technological expertise, to develop innovative solutions for myopia prevention and treatment.
An agreement signing cum inauguration ceremony for this collaboration was held on 9 December 2024. The agreement was signed by Prof. HE Mingguang, Director of Research Centre for SHARP Vision of PolyU, and Mr YANG Keqing, Director of Holo See Medical Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd, under the witness of PolyU representative Prof. CHEN Qingyan, Director of PolyU Academy for Interdisciplinary Research, and Holo See representative, Ms HONG Wanjun, Managing Director of Holo See Medical Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. The ceremony was also attended by Mr LIU Xiao, Director of Doctorglasses China Co., Ltd and Mr ZHU Wui, Director of Shenzhen Jinghu Investment Consulting Co., Ltd.
At the ceremony, Prof. Chen mentioned myopia is a widespread epidemic globally and has created a significant social burden. PolyU has continuously conducted research on myopia, and this collaboration with Holo See aims to further promote the university's research findings on myopia to the broader community. Prof. He also expressed enthusiasm for exploring the potential of naked-eye 3D stereoscopic vision training technology in myopia prevention and other visual health applications.
Mr Yang acknowledged PolyU's top ranking in optometry and its significant contributions to myopia control, expressing optimism for a fruitful collaboration that could lead to groundbreaking advancements in the field. This partnership is poised to enhance the understanding and management of myopia, benefiting both the academic community and the general public.
