Biography
Dr Aria YANG received her Doctor of Philosophy at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). She has joined PolyU School of Design as a PhD Researcher in 2020 and later promoted as a Research Assistant Professor.
Dr Yang has the research interest of utilizing participatory design approaches in building age-friendly environments for older adults living in residential care homes and the community. Her works have been published to various journals such as International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, Sensors. Additionally, Dr Yang collaborates with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and business sector to work on projects aimed at designing smart elderly home systems and residential care homes in Hong Kong, her partners include The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and The Hong Kong Council of Social Service. Her projects have generated impacts and contributed to the field of smart ageing.
