Biography

Prof. David NAVARRO-ALARCON received his PhD degree in Mechanical and Automation Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where he was supervised by the world-renowned scholar Prof. Yun-hui LIU and received the prestigious CONACYT Fellowship. He once worked in is an at the CUHK T Stone Robotics Institute as a Postdoctoral Fellow, then as a Research Assistant Professor from 2014 - 2017. Currently, Prof. NAVARRO-ALARCON is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Principal Investigator of the Robotics and Machine Intelligence Laboratory (ROMI-Lab).

Prof. NAVARRO-ALARCON mainly focuses on researching on the modelling and control of robot motion tasks. His research on sensor-based robotics has been supported by many competitive government funds and the local industries. He is also a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Robotics (T-RO).
