Biography
Prof. Leong has the research interest of investigating shoulder pain and dysfunction, which is a common challenge faced by older adults in Hong Kong. Her works related to shoulder pain have been published in journals including Musculoskeletal Science & Practice, PLOS One and Journal of Orthopaedic Translation. Besides, she has conducted a research project which addresses the cognitive decline in elderlies with chronic shoulder pain by investigating the feasibility of developing a combined exercise and cognitive-motor dual task training programme.
Prof. Leong believes that RISA can act as a platform to foster interdisciplinary research of developing new technology, i.e. 3D ultrasound imaging for the early screening for shoulder disorders. Besides, she hopes to contribute her expertise in studying shoulder pain to the research area of Smart Health in RISA, facilitating knowledge transfer and advancement.
