Biography

Prof. Emma Shujun WANG is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). After receiving the PhD degree at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2022, she had been a Postdoctoral Researcher and Research Associate at CUHK and the University of Cambridge respectively. 

 

Prof. Wang focuses on investigating deep learning for digital health and utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to facilitate the diagnosis and prognosis of dementia. Her works had been published on top-tier journals such as The Lancet Digital Health and Medical Image Analysis. Besides, she serves as reviewer for several journals and conferences, she was selected as IEEE TMI Distinguished Reviewer in 2023. Prof. Wang also won awards including the Champion of the REFUGE challenge in 2018 and the second place of PALM challenge in 2019, which showcases her strong skills in medical image analysis. By joining RISA, she hopes to establish potential collaborations with interdisciplinary experts, acknowledge and learn more cutting-edge technology in the field of smart ageing.
