Prof. YAN Luximon is the Associate Dean (Research) and Professor in the School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). She is also the Leader of the Asian Ergonomics Design Lab. After obtaining her PhD degree at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2006, Prof. Yan joined PolyU School of Design as a Visiting Assistant Professor and was later promoted as Professor. 

Prof. Yan is interested in exploring the relationships between ergonomics, smart technology and interactive product design, especially focusing on addressing the physical and cognitive needs and challenges encountered by elderlies. Her works had been published in journals including Age and Ageing, Behaviour & Information Technology and International Journal of Industrial Ergonomics. As a Principal Investigator (PI), Prof. Yan has led research projects which utilized technology to foster physical capabilities and well-being of senior citizens, she had received grants including but not limited to School of Design Collaborative Research Fund and PolyU KTEO’s Greater Bay Area Start-up Postdoctoral Fellow scheme. 

By joining RISA, Prof. Yan strives to establish interdisciplinary collaborations and explore more research directions in ageing, fostering quality of life of senior citizens eventually.
