Biography

Prof. LIU Xintao is an Associate Professor at the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He received the PhD degree in in Geoinformatics from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden in 2012. Before joining PolyU in 2016, he worked as a postdoc fellow and sessional lecturer at Toronto Metropolitan University in Canada.

Prof. Liu is interested in investigating mobility and barrier-free facility management for ageing population. His expertise areas are urban science, human behavior, geography and spatial big data analytics. Prof. Liu is a Principal Investigator of the GeoX Lab, which aims to utilize large database and GeoAI to build up an urban computing platform for analyzing urban performance indexes. He strives to develop and utilize technology to build smart cities, fostering the living quality of community dwellers.
