Biography

Prof. SUN Yi is the Associate Head (Partnership) and Associate Professor in the Department of Building and Real Estate, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He received a Bachelor of Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy at Sun Yat-sen University and The University of Hong Kong respectively. 

As an urban planner, Prof. Sun's research expertise area lies on building age-friendly cities/communities in the Asia-Pacific region. He has led several research projects with receiving supports from Research Grants Council, Policy Innovation and Co-ordination Office of the Hong Kong SAR Government. Apart from receiving local recognition, he gains international acknowledgement by serving in the technical working group for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) at the fields of disasters and statistics.
