Prof. Gang LI is awarded RGC Senior Research Fellow Scheme 2022/23

We are pleased to announce that our RISE member, Professor Gang LI is awarded RGC Senior Research Fellow Scheme (SRFS) 2022/23!

2022 RGC Award Presentation Ceremony of RGC Senior Research Fellow Scheme is host on 7 November 2022.

This scheme aims at providing sustained support and relief from teaching and administrative duties to exceptionally outstanding researchers, to facilitate their full dedication to research and development and help universities attract and retain research talent.

Professor Li’s project “Printable Organic Solar Cells: Materials and Device Investigations towards Applications” is awarded with a fellowship grant of around HKD$7.7M.

Organic solar cell (OSC) is an emerging photovoltaic (PV) technology with distinct advantages in many areas, such as flexible/portable PV, building integrated PV and transparent power applications. Aiming at accelerating the OSC technology, Prof. Li proposed a systematic plan to tackle the challenges in OSC. The project will significantly push forward OSC technology in terms of high efficiency, stability, compatibility with unique applications and being printing friendly. The proposed research represents a new frontier for OSC technology, which integrates chemistry, physics and material science to generate new perspectives in science and come up with solutions to challenging issues in renewable energy.

Congratulations to Professor Li!
