The Human Locomotion Laboratory houses comprehensive equipment for human biomechanics analysis including the Vicon V5 3-Dimensional motion analysis system, AMTI force platforms, Zebris pressure measuring instrumented treadmill, Delsys multichannel electromyographic system, Novel Pedar insole pressure measuring system and Tekscan pressure measuring system.
Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Design (AiDLab)

AiDLab is the first research platform that focuses on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with design. It was jointly established by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the Royal College of Art (RCA) in the UK, and is funded by the HKSAR Government under the InnoHK Research Clusters. Located at the Hong Kong Science Park, AiDLab has established a new creative cluster of AI in design and is in a leading position internationally to conduct interdisciplinary research that drives innovation and sustainability, and makes a positive impact on both industry and society.

State Key Laboratory of Ultra-Precision Machining Technology

Ultra-precision Machining Technology is a multi-disciplinary research area, which forms the backbone and support of today’s innovative technology industries from optoelectronics and mechatronics, optics, and telecommunications to biomedical engineering. The research activities of the SKL of UMT focuses on five directions including Micro and Nano-machining Mechanics and Technologies, Advanced Ultra-precision Machining Technologies and Processes, Freeform Surface Metrology, Development of Equipment/Instruments for Ultra-precision Machining, and Advanced Optics Manufacturing Technology and its Applications.
