Al Zoubi博士在約旦科技大學（JUST）取得物理治療學理學士學位，並獲紐約科技學院（NYIT）頒授專業理學碩士學位。及後，他於麥基爾大學獲取以研究為基礎的康復理學碩士和博士學位（主修肌肉骨骼康復，副修下腰痛），並在該大學完成循證實踐的測量及知識轉化的博士後培訓。在加入理大之前，Al Zoubi博士曾於麥基爾大學任教物理治療及職業治療專業碩士課程，並教授康復科學研究生課程，亦曾在約旦和加拿大從事數年的物理治療工作，專治肌肉骨骼和老年疾病。
Al Zoubi博士的主要研究方向包括實施臨床服務指引的建議和最佳實踐方法以改善患者的護理和保健療效、為腰椎活動度制定創新的結果衡量指標、運用現代測量理論為循證實踐開發一種可靠的測量方法、以理論方法彌合康復實踐中證據與實踐之間的差距、了解為背痛人士和長者而設的健康指標。Al Zoubi博士亦是知識合成方法論的專家，其研究包括範圍界定審核、系統評價、綜合分析和臨床服務指引。此外，他在測量、定量和定性方法以及大型數據庫的分析方面也擁有廣泛的專業知識。
Al Zoubi博士曾獲多個研究機構頒贈學術獎項、研究金和撥款，當中包括加拿大衛生研究院（CIHR）、大蒙特利爾康復跨學科研究中心（CRIR）和加拿大Richard and Edith Strauss基金會。他的研究成果曾在不同的國際期刊上發表，如Implementation Science、BMC Health Services Research、BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders、Clinical Rehabilitation及Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics。
