Biography

Dr Peter Ng received his BSc, MSc and PhD at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2004, 2007 and 2013 respectively. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Computing (COMP) and the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences (RS), PolyU. He is in charge of the Game Lab and is Deputy Programmer Leader of the full-time Broad Discipline of Computing (EIS Stream) and Master of Science in Metaverse Technology programmes at COMP. His research interests are artificial intelligence, health application, APP, game and mixed reality development. He has created more than ten applications for work injury, dementia, dyslexia and intellectual disability. By using innovative and cross-disciplinary approaches, devices, and solutions, his products can reduce the time required for functional recovery and healthcare costs. 

Dr Ng has been awarded the Best Student Paper in SCIS & ISIS 2011, one of the Best ACG+ Capital Teams by the Home Affairs Department of the HKSAR Government in 2017, the Merit Awards of Teaching by the Faculty of Engineering (FENG), PolyU in 2017 and 2021, the Merit Awards of Service by FENG, PolyU in 2019, the Team Awards of Teaching by FENG, PolyU in 2021, the Gold Winner for the Community Outreach Award (eLFA2021) in 2021, and the Top 10 STEM Teachers for the Greater Bay Area STEM Excellence Award 2022 (HKSAR).
