劉滙文教授現任香港理工大學康復治療科學系職業治療學副教授。他的多學科研究融匯了神經解剖學、生物心理學和康復科學，主要聚焦於情緒、社會行為和精神疾病背後的生物學機制。他深入探討壓力、電子煙使用和環境影響等生活方式因素如何影響情緒健康，並特別關注神經發生、神經可塑性、內分泌學和轉錄組學表達。
劉教授亦在康復科學領域開展轉化研究，包括識別人體樣本中的生物標誌物以反映健康狀況，以及開發創新的康復技術，如3D打印和虛擬實境。他發表了大量學術論文，並擔任《科學報告》（Scientific Reports）和《香港職業治療學報》（HKJOT）編輯委員會成員，並與英國、澳洲、加拿大、西班牙及美國的學者建立並維持國際合作關係。
除研究外，劉教授亦致力於教學工作，教授人體解剖學、精神疾病、神經科學和研究方法等課程。他將「翻轉課堂」(Flipped Classroom)、數字工具和沉浸式技術融入教學實踐中，並曾榮獲了包括QS Reimagine教學獎在內的團隊教學獎項。他指導了眾多研究生、碩士生和本科生項目，並珍視透過研究支持學生成長的機會。
