符欲均博士在浙江大学获得软件工程学士学位，随后来到香港深造，先后于香港城市大学及香港理工大学获得多媒体信息技术科学硕士学位和哲学博士学位，并在博士毕业后在香港理工大学电子计算学系担任博士后研究员。
符博士对跨学科研究特别感兴趣，尤其是将人工智能、机器学习、深度学习、多媒体及信号处理等技术应用于人本问题上的相关研究。他之前的研究工作涉及多个领域，包括打架识别、行为分析、生理信号测量、精神状态监测、视力健康筛查以及智能消防工程等。他曾在多个具有影响力的会议及期刊上发表论文，包括AAAI、ACMMM、COMPSAC、IJHCI、FSJ等。他也曾被多个著名会议及期刊邀请担任会议委员会成员及审稿人，例如CHI、ACMMM、IJHCS等。
他目前的主要研究方向是利用多模态信号（如生理信号、眼动交互、身体运动以及其他图像或视像信号等）构建人工智能系统来预测人们的健康问题，并最终保障人们的健康状况。
