Vinas-Guasch博士在英國威爾士的班格爾大學獲得了認知科學和神經語言學的碩士和博士學位。在加入香港理工大學的康復治療科學系之前,他曾在香港大學的腦與認知科學國家重點實驗室、精神醫學系以及香港教育大學的幼兒教育學系擔任博士後研究員。隨後,他成為新加坡國立大學臨床腦實驗室的一名研究員。

Vinas-Guasch博士有多元化的研究背景,他曾參與的研究範疇包括語言習得、神經認知障礙的臨床表現(如精神分裂症和中風)、小腦對認知的貢獻,以及神經影像學中的大腦自動劃分方法。他更利用功能性磁力共振造影(fMRI),以研究人類在閱讀時整合視聽的功能網絡,亦分析了亞皮質區域在高級認知中的參與情況,並最近進行了fMRI引導的TMS研究,以確定大腦-小腦回路在工作記憶中的活動情況。Vinas-Guasch博士目前正研究自動化的本地個體劃分方法在影像數據分析,以及認知損傷中的小腦前向模型的適用性。

Vinas-Guasch博士的研究最終目標是應用其對干預措施的研究及理論,以幫助神經和精神殘疾患者。
