Manny is a registered physiotherapist in Hong Kong and Australia. She completed her Master of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at La Trobe University in Melbourne and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. As she believes in lifelong learning and constantly upgrades her clinical skills in optimising her clients’ potential to live a happy and healthy life, she chose to continue her study at RS of PolyU.
She is currently a PhD student researching the effect of aquatic high-intensity interval training (AHIIT) on cardiometabolic health and physical fitness in women. An aquatic environment is beneficial to physical training because many of the physiological benefits are related to the physical properties of water. AHIIT has shown favourable effects on cardiorespiratory and musculoskeletal systems. Manny’s research goal is therefore to provide a safe and efficient training option for the health continuum. By understanding the science of AHIIT, clinicians and trainers are better equipped to provide safe and effective AHIIT exercise prescriptions to those in need in our community.
