Her extensive knowledge and contribution to Hong Kong’s public health, nursing profession and the community as a whole are highly recognised. When setting up the Hong Kong Academy of Nursing (HKAN), Prof. Chan had shown her unconditional support. So far, HKAN has achieved many milestones including a certification system for admitting members and fellows, an accreditation system for accrediting specialty college courses, and the formation of the Working Group on Advanced and Specialised Nursing Practice.

Mr CHAN Man-nok

Manager (Nursing) / Chief Nursing Officer, Nursing Services Department, Hospital Authority Head Office

Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing (2007)

Mr Chan Man-no lays down nursing practice guidelines and standards so as to fill the gap between theory and real-life hospital nursing practice. To improve the standard of patient care, he created and facilitated a specialty orientation programme for nursing students, covering all necessary workflows, documentation, systems, equipment, and points to note. The programme won an award in the Hospital Authority (HA) Convention 2017. A recipient of HA Young Achiever Award in 2018, Mr Chan has integrated technology and evidence-based protocol in nursing practice. To improve quality of nursing documentation, and to enhance the quality of nursing care, he led a team in developing a note divider system to separate data, assessment and response. With this innovative idea, he won the Excellence Award in Hospital Management (Asia) in 2019. Right now, he is developing an innovative system to automate the allocation of nursing students to different hospitals for clinical practica.
