摘要
Air pollution is a major environmental risk to human health in China and globally. Cleaning the air cost-effectively requires accurate and fast modelling tools for costs and benefit analysis of alternative air pollution control options. This presentation will introduce the development of Air Benefit and Cost and Attainment Assessment System (ABaCAS) that connects air pollution emissions control and costs with air quality benefits, health and economic impacts, and air quality attainment tests. The talk will address recent research progress of Prof. Wang’s group on: (1) accurate modelling of primary emissions and secondary aerosol formation; (2) real-time prediction of air quality responses to emission control; (3) optimization of multiple precursors and low-carbon control strategies based on cost-benefit analysis. The applications of ABaCAS to supports the clean air policy-making will be introduced. Prof. WANG will also briefly share her insights on the challenges and perspectives of air pollution control in China.
