Professor in Remote Sensing
Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering
University of New Brunswick, Canada
Professor Yun Zhang is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (FCAE), Canada Research Chair in Advanced Geomatics Image Processing (2008-2018), Professor in Remote Sensing at the University of New Brunswick, and a Visiting Professor of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (2015). The research outcomes from his lab have resulted in more than 20 technology licenses. Users of the technologies include NASA, Google, Natural Resources Canada, DigitalGlobe, and many others. Professor Zhang received many national and international research awards, such as the NSERC Synergy Award for Innovation. The breakthroughs from his research lab were featured by NSERC and CFI (the Canada Foundation for Innovation). One of his research results was selected by the Association of University Technology Managers (an international association with more than 3,500 intellectual property managers and business executives from 50 countries) as one of top 100 university developed technologies, among those developed by MIT, Stanford, Yale, Columbia, Brown, and other international top universities.
