The internship is a credit-bearing subject to be taken during the summer months. It is compulsory for BA (Hons) Scheme in Design Year 3’s students.

• Student interns take on full-time, design-discipline-related job positions for a minimum of 8 weeks between May and August.
• The participating Internship Company will assign a Workplace Supervisor (preferably a Senior Designer, Art Director, or an experienced mentor in design) to establish the framework, review progress, and complete an evaluation report at the end of the internship.
• Students are required to produce a written report on their internship experiences.
• The SD internship coordinators (representing 9 design disciplines in SD) have reviewed each case and endorsed the job according to the job descriptions (JDs).
• There is no formal payment element to the internship. Any training allowance is at the discretion of the host organization.
