Keynote Speaker
Mak Chun Hung
Chairman of the Association of Motion Picture Post Production Professionals (AMP4)
Director, the Hong Kong Film Awards Association (HKFAA) Board of Directors
As an experienced film scores composer, Mr Mak has composed and produced original film scores for more than 200 Chinese movies and more than 100 original scores for Chinese TV drama series.
Some of his recent film scores for movies include Moscow Mission, Raid on the Lethal Zone, the Shock Wave sequel, and the White Storm sequel.
Some of his highly popular original BGM for TV dramas: ‘Chinese Paladin’〈仙劍奇俠傳〉Season 1 & 3, ‘The Journey of Flower’〈花千骨〉, ‘Swords of Legends’〈古劍奇譚〉, ‘Strange Tales of Liao Zhai series’〈聊齋系列〉.
Mr Mak has devoted himself to music education for many years. He teaches and gives seminars in universities in mainland China as well as in Hong Kong. He also has organised training courses for music lovers, teaching them music composition.
From Jan 2024, Mr Mak will be teaching “Innovative Music Creation with AI Technology” for master course students in the university.
Loudboy
Loudboy is a member of MCSC. He is a composer, arranger and guitarist with diverse musical styles. His opera works Ming Yun《命運》, Dao Lu《道路》, Yin Xing Shu Xia《銀杏樹下》and Xian Hang Zhe《先行者》were awarded ‘Outstanding Work’ at the 12nd and 13rd Chinese Opera Festival. Film Shadow《影》was nominated for ‘Best Original Film Score’ at the 55th Golden Horse Awards and ‘Best Original Music’ at the 13th Asian Film Awards. One Second《一秒鐘》 was nominated for ‘Best Original Music’ at the 15th Asian Film Awards. Mountain Patrol: Kekexili《可哥西裡》 and Love Without Words 2《忠愛無言2》 was nominated for ‘Best Music’ at the 25th and 33rd China Golden Rooster Awards respectively. Pathfinders《覓渡》 won the ‘Best Music’ award at the 36th Golden Rooster Awards.
Musical works: Love U, Teresa! 《愛上鄧麗君》, Red Lantern《大紅燈籠》, etc; TV drama music: Minning Town《山海情》, Tie Li Hua《鐵梨花》, Da Gou Gun《打狗棍》, Ode to Joy《歡樂頌》, etc; Songs: ‘Zhong Feng‘〈重逢〉, theme song of the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, ‘Xiang Ju Dao Yong Jiu’〈相聚到永久〉, theme song of the China-ASEAN Exposition, etc. Arrangement works: ‘Mei Li De Shen Hua’〈美麗的神話〉, ‘Ji Mo Rang Wo Ru Ci Mei Li’〈寂寞讓我如此美麗〉, etc.
His previous roles: Music Director of Han Hong’s Beijing concert in 2008, Chyi Yu’s concert in 2009,BRTV’s Kua Jie Ge Wang《跨界歌王》, Anhui TV Station’s Listen to China《耳畔中國》(also as initiator), the Lighting and Fireworks Evening Gala of The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Qingdao Summit, Closing Ceremony of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou, and Music Member of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic. He had participated in the arrangement, composition, and production of albums of Liu Huan, Leotta Mo, Sun Nan, Han Hong, Chen Ming, Na Ying, Allen Lin, Sha Baoliang, Tan Jing, Theway Zhang, Chris Lee, Yao Beina, Tan Weiwei, Zhang Jie, etc.
Alan Cheung
Alan Cheung is a composer, arranger, producer and music director. He has received awards of Best Composer in Asia, China and Hong Kong, as well as Most popular OST in Asia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore.
He has published over 500 songs including 200 theme songs for films and TV drama. Notable pop songs include: Stephanie Cheng’s ‘Hong Lu Deng’ 〈紅綠燈〉, Andy Lee’s ‘Xin Zhao’〈心照〉, Miriam Yeung’s ‘Jia Gei Ai Qing’ 〈嫁給愛情〉, Jinny Ng’s ‘Secret Tears’〈眼淚的秘密〉, Joey Yung’s ‘Nu Huang’ 〈女皇〉, Hacken Lee’s ‘My Ages Apart’ 〈誇世代〉and Herbert Wu’s ‘I Was Here’〈到此一遊〉, etc.
Cousin Fung
Cousin won the Best Composer Awards in Ultimate Song Chart Awards Presentation in 2017, 2019 and 2020 respectively, and has published more than 100 songs since entering the industry.
His recent works in composing, arranging and producing include Edan Lui’s ‘E Xian Sheng Lian Huan Bu Xing Shi Jian’〈E先生連環不幸事件〉(composer/arranger/producer), Jason Chan’s ‘One Day’〈有天〉(composer/arranger/producer), Chantel Yiu's ‘So, This is Love’〈原來談戀愛是這麼一回事〉(composer/arranger/producer), Ian Chan’s ‘Zheng Shi Kai Shi’〈正式開始〉(composer/arranger/ producer), Keung To’s ‘Yi Hao Zhong Zi’〈一號種籽〉(composer/arranger), Jason Chan’s ‘I Am Nothing Without You’〈沒有你 我甚麼都不是〉(composer/producer), Kwan Gor’s ‘Yang Guang Dian De Ge’〈陽光點的歌〉(composer/producer), etc.
In addition to composition, he is also taking part in song harmonies. His works include Hins Cheung’s ‘Qiao Lang Jun’〈俏郎君〉, Phil Lam’s ‘Mountains and Valleys’〈高山低谷〉, etc.
Siu Hak
Siu Hak is an active lyricist and comic artist. His works are diverse in creative themes.
He created several series in recent years, including songs written for Endy Chow such as ‘Sometimes’〈有時〉, ‘Reunion’〈重逢〉, ‘Stardust’〈星塵〉, and songs written for Jer Lau Ying Ting like ‘Madman's Diary’〈狂人日記〉, ‘Castle of Sand’ 〈砂之器〉, ‘Stellar Moments of Humankind’〈人類群星閃耀時〉.
His recent lyricist works includes but not limited to Kay Tse's ‘Facing the Waves of Marriage’〈成婚破浪〉, J1M3 feat. Chin Tung's ‘Sea of Trees’〈樹海〉, Lolly Talk's ‘Date of the Graduation Cap’〈四方帽之約〉.
Phil Lam
A famous Hong Kong singer-songwriter becomes popular in the early days of his career with many inspirational songs such as ‘Mountains and Valleys’〈高山低谷〉, ‘Nan De Yi Yu’〈難得一遇〉, ‘Yi Shuang Shou’〈一雙手〉, which won him many music awards.
Recent release works topping the pop music charts includes ‘Zhong Du Xing Qu Ban’〈重讀興趣班〉and ‘Shi Jian De Qiu Fan’〈時間的囚犯〉. The Single ‘Tai Qian Mu Hou’〈台前幕後〉in 2023 became the number one song on four channels, showing his great talents and strength. In 2024, he reinterpreted his masterpiece ‘Mountain and Valleys’ on the Japan’s YouTube platform THE FIRST TAKE, taking the fifth place in Hong Kong for YouTube Trending for Music.
He has also composed songs for other singers, among which Keung To’s ‘Dear My Friend’ receiving ‘My Favourite Song Award’ in Ultimate Song Chart Awards Presentation in 2021.
Lai Ying Tong (Siu Tung)
Siu Tung obtained her master’s degree in music from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, currently a Hong Kong music producer and also a composer under Media Asia Music.
Her work areas cover pop music production (composition, arrangement and production), concert music director, advertising soundtracks, theatre music design and creations, film and TV series soundtracks, etc. She has collaborated with different singers over the past years and taken part in pop music productions for more than a hundred pop music productions (composition, arrangement and production). Musical works include ‘Together We Strive For A Better World’〈集合吧!地球保衛隊〉, ‘Shen Ye Gao Bie Lain Xi’〈深夜告別練習〉, ‘Time Will Prove’〈時間做證〉, ‘A Kind of Eternity’〈久天長地〉, ’Greatest Invention’〈四大發明〉, ‘Pi Shuang Zhi Hou’〈砒霜之後〉, ‘Tian Ti’〈天梯〉and ‘A Moment Of Love’〈一刻戀上〉, etc.
She was the winner of “CASH - The 4th Joseph Koo New Generation Award” in 2012. In 2019, Siu Tung was nominated for her work ‘The Miracles of the Namiya General Store’〈解憂雜貨店〉in the Best Original Score (Drama) at The 28th Hong Kong Drama Award.
The Hertz
The Hertz, an independence band established in Hong Kong in 2018. Its members include Herman Wong (lead vocals and guitarist), Ricky Wu (guitarist), Ray Sze (bassist), Him Hui (keyboardist), and Marco Leung (drummer). Each member specilises in different music styles but shares the same philosophy of expressing themselves through music, transforming it into a language to convey messages. They released their first self-titled EP “THE HERTZ” in 2020, and their CD album “PRESENT” in 2023.
