Each year, the School of Design accepts new PhD proposals (Research Postgraduate (RPg) to its research faculty. The School seeks to attract talented individuals, demonstrating basic or applied research in a range of design areas.
Besides theoretical studies, the School also encourages multidisciplinary research. In particular, the School has identified additional areas of interest: (i) Design and Data, (ii) AI, (iii) User Experience Design, (iv) Co-design, (v) Healthcare Design, (vi) Entrepreneurship, and (vii) Service Design, over and above its regular research emphasis of Social Design, Design Economy and Design Making.
The application deadline for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme is set for 1 December 2020. All applications should be made through the online system.
