The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design (PolyU Design) is excited to announce the launch of the Designpreneurship Community, organised by its teams of SD+ and LKSD&I, on 21 June 2024. This initiative aims to foster a vibrant ecosystem that encourages design, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The Community will be engaged in a series of activities related to design entrepreneurship, along with a funding scheme, to form vibrant connections with designpreneurs. It will serve as a hub of various events focused on design-driven projects. This aligns with PolyU Design's mission to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among design students, staff, and alumni.
The launch event was attended by friends and collaborators committed to advancing innovative and entrepreneurial development across the design and other industries. Keynote speakers included Prof. Christopher Chao, Vice President for Research and Innovation at PolyU; Prof. Kun-pyo Lee, Dean of PolyU Design; Prof. Eric Yim, Advisory Committee Member of SD+ and Chairman of HKDC; and Prof. Soon-Jong Lee, Advisory Committee Member of SD+ and Emeritus Professor at Seoul National University’s Department of Design. Their visionary remarks inspired academia, students, and alumni to transform bold ideas into tangible realities.
The Designpreneurship Community's launch showcases the remarkable passion and talent of PolyU's design innovators, marking the beginning of a new era of design-driven innovation.
