Biography
Dr Sky Lo Tian Tian is a Hong Kong-born Singaporean appointed as Assistant Professor in the School of Design. His key research topic is “Spatial Phygital Interaction”. During his doctoral study, he was awarded a full doctoral scholarship by the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Victoria University of Wellington. His research areas include bottom-up human-centred architectural design concepts, using XR, BIM, and gamification to create an interactive environment. His aim is to connect the virtual and the physical environment through trans-discipline methods. He hopes to use the developed prototypes to create “bridges”, and developed the term Human-VR Interaction (HVRI). One such project is to integrate design + technology to bridge the gap between the city and the rural setting. One built project was “Green Weaved Corridor”, a parametric-designed bamboo pavilion built in Chaozhou, China. He is now working on various other projects that involve spatial narrative, materiality, phygital interactions and user involvement. He has organised numerous workshops in venues such as DigitalFuture, CCD-ASC, and POLAR. He has published numerous papers on transdisciplinary research towards interactive design and is now one of the primary committee members and reviewers for high-impacted organisations such as CAADRIA, eCAADe, WORLD16, and World CAAD PhD.
- Chair of Post-Grad Student Consortium (PGSC) for Computer-Aided Architectural Design Research in Asia (CAADRIA)
- Academic Committee Member for Computational Design of Architectural Society of China
- Member of the WORLD16 by Forum8
- Coordinator of workshops in DigitalFuture, CCD-ASC, POLAR
Dr Sky is now seeking to recruit PhDs who have experience in VR/AR/MR/XR technologies such as Unity/Unreal/C4D software and HTC/Oculus/HoloLens hardware etc. in Architecture/Urban/Design/Landscape background. Those with cross-discipline knowledge such as IoT, ubiquitious computing are highly recommended
