Biography
Prof. Stefan Sonntag is a Professor of Practice and Programme Leader in the BA (Hons) Advertising Design Programme at PolyU's School of Design, where he develops and implements a diverse range of teaching subjects.
Before joining PolyU in 2008, he spent two decades as a Creative Director in leading advertising agencies across Asia and Europe, serving a variety of blue-chip clients. Through his teaching, he regularly connects with academic partners and the communications industry via international collaboration projects, both physically and virtually. He aims to create effective and relevant work that combines strategy, creativity, technology, data, media, and equally important, common sense. Notable clients include BMW-Mini, Miele, Estée Lauder Lab Series, Colgate-Palmolive, the Goethe Institute, and various NGOs.
His research interests encompass all matters related to internationalisation and sustainability. He also holds several licensing agreements for non-traditional research outputs.
Additionally, he serves as an International Advisor and is a board member of CUMULUS Global X International Affairs, as well as an alumnus of the European Association for International Education.
