Among the three major diabetic user groups (type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, and gestational diabetes), pre-diabetic patients have a larger population and the potential to receive benefits from glucose and diet management. Based on research, taste is crucial to such management. If taste can be adjusted and managed, patients can have healthy diets without too much struggle. Our team wants to solve the challenge of diet management for heavy-tasting users through system design and system development.

The system we designed is called taste tag (TaTa). This system helps pre-diabetic users form healthier diet behaviours and habits, thus forming healthier tastes and finally achieving glucose health. From behaviour change to taste change, we want users to have a better lifestyle that lasts long, produces less pain, and gives them more pleasure in the process.

Our slogan is "Flavour to savour, easy to favour." The system highlights three characteristics: taste management, personalised assistance, and convenience. Data is crucial in supporting all these features. By knowing users, their tastes and their environment and sharing data across platforms, the system can support taste management in a personalised and convenient way.
