SONIC OCEAN: Protecting Chinese White Dolphin’s Habitat

On the west side of Lantau Island in Hong Kong is the main habitat of the Chinese white dolphin, a national first-class protected animal. However, due to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, airport runways, reclamation and land expansion projects surrounding the place (Tai O Fishing Village), the ocean noise and seawater pollution cause the reduction of the white dolphins and their food, such as fish and crustaceans. It affects the overall food chain and has a severe negative impact on marine ecology. Read more
