Our M.A programme is designed to provide students the necessary skills to become high caliber graduates, who are ready for the professional world. We offer a truly unique learning experience. By working closely with well-known international brands, our collaborative industry projects allow students to work as designers for ‘real’ clients.
Our expansive global network has enabled our programme to provide students insight into understanding the ‘real world’ of commercial, creative design while working on prestigious projects for renown brands.
The collaborative projects fundamentally teach students how they can apply their personal means of expression through commercial design, for an established brand.
Students develop the necessary professional attitude and range of skills, that are in-line with industry expectations.
Graduates have more variety in their exit portfolios, offering more opportunities for employment in a variety of fashion fields.
The M.A studio is located on the 6th floor of a shared studio space which houses pattern cutting tables as well as industrial sewing machines. There is also a computer lab which provides students access to various design software.
SFT is also equipped with various other workshops that offer opportunities for students to utilize advanced specialist sewing machines, knitting looms, bonding machines, a dyeing and finishing laboratory, Textiles Resource Centre, Material Resource Centre, as well as a photography studio.
In addition, PolyU is at the cutting edge of research and technological innovation. Students have access to on campus ‘state of the art’ facilities, where they are encouraged to expand on their expertise, and adopt a more interdisciplinary approach to design realization.
Each year, our students are introduced to the Industrial Centre and Digital Maker Space, where they are welcome to use facilities such as 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, Laser Etching, Electroplating and Virtual Reality to name a few.
