As COVID-19 continues to spread in Hong Kong, ITC alumni from the class of 2020 of MA in Fashion & Textiles (Fashion Merchandising) have been pulling together to do what they can to help the alma mater to contain the novel coronavirus.
The class representative Mr An Gang has capitalized on his strong network to encourage his classmates from different cities of Mainland China to contribute cash, supplies as well as personal networks. Within days, overwhelming response was received from nearly 30 alumni. 600 sets of medical protective clothing (valued RMB 40,000) was donated to PolyU, in support of measures to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus and provide a stable supply of health-protection equipment.
The donation was supported by Shenzhen Charity Federation in the process of delivering the supplies to Hong Kong. and gratefully recognized by various government organisations such as the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Shenzhen Civil Affairs Bureau, and covered by over 20 media organisations in Mainland China.
香港本波疫情以来,我们时刻关注着母校老师和在校同学们的消息。作为理大学生,同学们纷纷献计献策,出钱、出力、踊跃捐赠。其中张晓露同学为保障相关物资到位极力协调,高捡平同学在得知消息后便表示要积极参与,短短几天时间就完成了物资筹捐的准备工作。我们希望支持母校渡过疫情的难关,期盼在社会各界的共同努力下,香港及理大早日摆脱疫情阴霾,母校的老师、同学们能早日回归正常生活。
